Testing

I’ve decided for some stupid reason that for the next 3-4 hours at work, I will listen to only one song on repeat.  I’m on play number 3 right now I think and I still enjoy the song, but that will probably change.

(edit) I quit.  I only made it 2 hours.  I hope I don’t hear this song for a little while.  My head hurts.

I would ask the obvious question of "why," but the more important question is….what song?!?

Heh. I did that once with the Picard Song. Something like 200 plays. It was wonderful.

I also had a similar experience. On the way back from Las Vegas, sitting in the Milwaukee airport. I was listening to Stacy's Mom for like, 4 hours. I only remember it being 1 or 2, but thats what my friend who was with me said.

ive done that before. a couple times. the first time, it was caramelldansen. i was annoyed, but i couldnt stop listening to it. i dunno why.

the second time was tonight, actually. i listened to "one song glory" from rent for a few hours. and suprisingly, im not sick of either song… =/

I thought I was the only crazy person who actually did this!

A couple of months ago, I stayed awake a whole night programming (ohh good times :P). God knows why, I decided to play "All night long" by Lionel Richie in an infinite loop until I finished (8-9 hours approx)… Happily, I reached my deadline, but haven't been able to listen to that song again ever since.

Now I feel I'm not alone!! Thanks Justin, you freak!!

anyone seen The Truman Show? there's a song that plays when Truman sleeps (by Philip Glass)…I got that up over 200 one afternoon while studying for finals.

Justin, was your previous comic based on shoot the whoop?

  10. Kyo says:

Pathetic! I can go like two days with the same song!

Then I won't listen to it for the next two years, though

Ha, we had to write a review of a song for one of my classes

I listened to Blind by the Planet Smashers for like 3 hours. It was good.

I feel your pain though, my friend likes to dare me to listen to the same song over and over again and I usually do it, but then stop and lie to him and say I did……

    that made no sense ><

  12. Zmonge says:

    Yeah, another planet smashers fan!

I once listened to The Suicide Machines cover of The End of The World as We Know It (and I feel fine) for 3 hours straight, it was good until the 30ith minute.

Not sure if this counts, but I can listen to this literally all day:

One afternoon, I sat in front of the tv and ate a gallon tub of breyers vanilla bean ice cream before my roommates got back. Didn't gain a pound…probably b/c I'm LI, lactose intolerant. =P Now I just do the the semi-half gallons. (they've shrunk from 2 quarts to 1.75 to 1.5 now) A can of Pringles is an addictive side to compliment ice-cream.

another stupid thing. I only buy dvds to stop watching them whenever they come on. The reasoning is that if I own it, I won't need to watch it. e.g. when harry potter first came on cable, I watched it every time they aired it. it works pretty well as I've never watched them again…all my dvds are still in their shrink-wrap. (so I'm always ready with gifts to give)

This brings to mind two things: when I was a teenager, a local radio station played "State of Shock" by Michael Jackson and Mick Jagger for 25 hours straight. The weird thing was, the jocks would keep announcing the regular song rotation ("That was Van Halen with 'Jump,' and now here's Duran Duran and "The Reflex") and just keep playing that one damn song over and over.

The thing is the classic Steven Wright bit about driving cross-country with a friend ("We switched drivers every half-mile") and having only one music cassette to play on the entire trip. He'd pause, and then remark "I can't remember what it was."

  16. Swann says:

(That second paragraph should begin "The OTHER thing." Duh.)

Hmm, a really easy song to listen to for hours at a time is the Karl G Remix of Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol (longest title evar).

    http://www.karlgunton.com/music/remixes/trance/Sn

The way the song is mixed it's hard to tell when it restarts =P. I've accidentally listened to it for long chunks of time because I stop paying attention and never switch tracks

  18. Lol,I adore Mr.Jackson! He was the best to ever sing! We will never have someone like him! RIP to the GREATEST!
